Sheets

The grid opens in view mode β€” nothing changes by accident. Press Space (or tap βœ“) to switch fill mode on and off β€” click or drag to tick, Shift+click for a range. Tap ✎ for note mode: click a green block to select all of it in one go, or drag a rectangle over any area β€” repeat to add more, start on selected squares to remove. Then write the note. Edit a note's range anytime with ✎ in its row. β—‰ shows or hides all notes; when an inflow comes through, hit βœ“ on its note to fill those squares and log them. Ctrl+Z undoes, Ctrl+S saves (it autosaves anyway), and open tabs stay in sync. Only you know what a square means.
